TOURNAMENTS
Regional & Multi-day Tournaments
We will participate in USA Volleyball Sanctioned Tournaments, as well as AAU and other independent tournaments throughout our season.
We are currently scheduled to have one regional and one two-day tournament each month beginning January through April 2025. Regional tournament locations are determined ten days prior to each tournament. The calendar will be updated, and players will be notified during practice of regional tournament locations as they are posted for our region.
Note: More tournaments are optional
Tournaments begin at 9:00 am and teams will play a minimum of four matches. Matches are played best two out of three and on an average of 90 minutes (this is not a guarantee, just an average.) Match duration varies and we do not play all our matches for the day successively. Plan for the tournaments to last the duration of the day.
2024 - 2025 TOURNEMENTS
A detailed tournament schedule will be given to each team. Dates and locations are subject to change due to tournament cancellations and changes. CVASA will do our best to inform players and families of any changes as soon as possible.
MATCHES/GAMES
Coaches are trusted to make decisions for the overall best interest of the team. Positions may be moved around throughout the season based on the overall best interest of the team. Players are NOT guaranteed equal playing time. Players are not paying to play, they are paying to be a part of a team and for training.
During tournaments and matches, players are not allowed to wear apparel or carry bags from school teams or other Club teams.
During tournaments, players should wear the team uniforms and warmups. Players should be mindful of who they allow to carry their team bag in public and wear their team shirts. Negative behaviors have a negative reflection on our organization. A stranger in public will not know that the individual is not a part of our organization.
Each player is responsible for bringing all items to every tournament. Mandatory items that players should always have:
* both jerseys
* shoes
* shorts
* whistle
Players should remain with the team at tournaments
Players should not leave the facility without the permission of the coach. Tournament directors have the right to change schedules without notice. If a player is not with the team and a schedule changes, it could result in a forfeiture from the team.
**No player is allowed to leave a tournament site until the entire team has been dismissed.**
Teams are responsible for officiating matches in which they are not playing. Just because our team is finished playing, does not mean our obligations for the day are fulfilled. Players who leave without the authorization of the coach, will receive consequences including a $50.00 find.
USAV uses a purple card as well as the typical yellow and red cards. A purple card is used on spectator sportsmanship. If a team's fan(s) are deemed to be aggressive, harassing, or any other negative action, a team will receive a purple care with either a yellow or a red card. Under no circumstances are spectators allowed to argue at the working team of a match.
OFFICIATING
All players on 13U and up will be expected to complete the Junior Officiating Clinic online. All players will be expected to help officiate all games.
PRACTICE IS REQUIRED
Inform Coaches of any dates you will be unable to attend practice at the beginning of the season. Players will be expected to fill out a conflict form. All known conflicts must be included on this form; practices and tournaments.
TEAM PRACTICE SHIRTS
Players will receive practice shirts. Once shirts are received, all players will be expected to wear the practice shirts to practices. A schedule for which days to wear each shirt will be given once shirts have arrived. Players will receive consequences for not being dressed appropriately.
Players are NOT allowed to be on phones during practice. A parent needs to reach a player in an emergency, please contact the coach.
Players are expected to give 100% at all times. A player who cuts corners or does not give an effort of 100% cheats her teammates. It is unacceptable to cheat your team. The effort or lack of error you put into practice shows on the court during a game. If a player is confused about something, it is the players responsibility to ask for clarification.
PAYMENT - 2024/2025 SEASON
The cost for the season is $1,500.00 with a minimum of $500.00 signing due the day of sign-up. This amount covers gym, tournament fees, uniform package, and all fees associated with the club.
Each player will select to pay all at once or use the two-payment option. We depend on timely payments to cover all program expenses.
Options
Two payment option:
$500.00 due 11/04/2024 + 3.75% if paid using credit card
$500.00 due 12/04/2024 +3.75% if paid using credit card
Late payments may result in suspension from the team and can have a negative effect on the entire team, including losing spots in a tournament. Payments are expected to be received on time unless prior arrangements have been made. Failure to do so can result in a player being unable to practice and/or play.
FUNDRAISING
Players may participate in the sponsorship calendar to help raise funds to cover fees. We will also hold a club wide fundraiser.
DONATIONS
Donations to the program benefit all athletes. Donations help cover tournament costs, guy reservations, and equipment. This helps reduce the overall season price for each athlete. If you know of businesses willing to donate to our program please let us know.
# # #
We understand that there will be times you feel the need to discuss your child with the coach. We are more than happy to discuss your child with you. Please remember the following guidelines when talking with coaches:
Independence is extremely important in the development of your child as a person and an athlete. Please encourage and insist that your daughter address her volleyball related concerns to the coach directly prior to your interceding. Please consider the value of stepping back and allowing your child to learn to become independent except in cases where there is clear evidence of physical or emotional concerns. If your daughter or son is unsure of why a decision is being made, please encourage her to ask the coach directly.
The following are some things that are inappropriate and/or irrelevant to discuss with the coach:
* Another player's performance
* Another player's playing time
* Another team/coach's strategy or style
24 Hour Rule
The 24 hour rule is a policy set in place by many sports programs from recreation level to school to club ball in order to handle non-emergency issues. This rule specifies that a minimum of 24 hours must pass from the occurrence that has triggered the complaint.
If a parent or player has an issue/grievance that has resulted from a specific game or practice, the parent may inform the coach that they wish to set-up a meeting. We ask that you notify the coach by some electronic means (i.e. text, email, GroupMe). A meeting will be set up no sooner than 24 hours of the incident. Cooler heads will allow for a much more productive conversation. This policy is in place for the benefit of players, parents and coaches. We also encourage parents to implement a 24 hour rule for their communications to their daughter following a game. This self-imposed rule can do wonders for the overall well-being of a player.
TEAM DISMISSAL
In the event that a player does not meet all player expectations, she may be dismissed from the team. In the event that a player is dismissed from the team, the player will receive no refund on money paid and will be responsible for any payments still owed. If a player decides to quit the team, she will not receive any refunds and will be expected to complete the remaining payments on the account.
